Play Halted Due to Bad Light; Bangladesh Extends Lead to 106 Runs on Day 3 in Mirpur
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur during the tense third-day action between Bangladesh and West Indies.

Play on Day 3 of the Mirpur Test was brought to a premature halt due to bad light, with Bangladesh reaching 6 wickets for 79 runs in their second innings, holding a slender lead of 106 runs over West Indies.

Earlier in the day, West Indies' first innings was wrapped up at 245 runs, giving the hosts a 27-run first-innings lead. Tagenarine Chanderpaul led the visitors with a gritty 56, while Justin Greaves contributed 46 before falling to Nayeem Hasan's off-spin. Nayeem starred with the ball, claiming 4 wickets and setting a national milestone as the fastest Bangladeshi bowler to reach 50 Test wickets, with support from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam (2 wickets each).

However, Bangladesh suffered a disastrous start in their second innings, collapsing to 35 for 5 against disciplined Caribbean bowling and spin. Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim fell for a duck, followed by quick dismissals of Shadman Islam (13), first-innings centurion Towhid Hridoy (0), captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (10), Litton Das (4), and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (9). Concussion substitute Jaker Ali Anik and Nayeem Hasan managed to stabilize the innings and push the lead past the 100-run mark before fading light forced stumps early.
