Ace Bangladeshi left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman is set to make his highly anticipated debut in Australia's Big Bash League (BBL), signing with the Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming season. The 31-year-old pacer—who boasts 423 wickets in 331 T20 matches—was brought in as a replacement for regular Renegades fast bowler Jason Behrendorff, who has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a shoulder injury.
Renegades head coach Luke Ronchi expressed immense excitement over securing Mustafizur, praising his proven match-winning credentials in global T20 leagues. Ronchi noted that the Bangladeshi pacer's knack for striking in the powerplay and death overs addresses a vital need in their bowling unit. While Mustafizur will miss the opening match against the Perth Scorchers due to ILT20 commitments, he is eager to debut on January 1 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) against the Sydney Sixers, followed by a clash against the Melbourne Stars on January 4.
