Over 900,000 Ticket Applications Received for Bangladesh vs. England 2027 World Cup Match in Namibia
Cricket supporters filling international venues, setting historic ticket application milestones for the upcoming 2027 World Cup.

As excitement builds for the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup returning to Africa after 24 years, demand for tickets has reached astronomical heights. Bangladesh’s opening match against 2019 champions England, scheduled for October 8, 2027, at the Windhoek Cricket Ground in Namibia, has witnessed unprecedented interest.

Despite the venue having a modest capacity of just 7,500 seats, nearly 900,000 ticket applications have been submitted for this single fixture out of over 2 million requests across all six matches slated for Namibia. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that total ticket ballot requests across the tournament have already crossed 120 million. Notably, the India-Pakistan clash in Johannesburg drew over 8 million applications—surpassing the 7.9 million requests for the tournament final at the same venue.

The tournament will run through October and November 2027, featuring 57 matches across 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Bangladesh's group stage fixtures also include matches against New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and a qualifier team.
