West Indies Win Toss and Opt to Bat in Series-Deciding Sylhet Test; Bangladesh Fielding First
Bangladesh and West Indies taking the field in Sylhet for the final match of the 2026 Test series.

Bangladesh is taking the field first in the second and final Test of the two-match series against the West Indies at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, November 5, 2026. West Indies captain Roston Chase won the toss and elected to bat first as his team aims to seal the series, while Najmul Hossain Shanto’s side seeks a comeback following their defeat in the Mirpur Test.

Bangladesh made two enforced changes to their Playing XI. Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim, who missed the Mirpur opener due to an injury, returns to replace Mominul Haque. Mominul was sidelined following a concussion sustained during fielding in Mirpur (where Jaker Ali Anik batted as his concussion substitute), rendering him ineligible under safety protocols for seven days. Additionally, right-arm speedster Taskin Ahmed comes in for Shoriful Islam. Bangladesh maintains a bowling attack of two seamers (Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud) and three specialist spinners (Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan).

The West Indies also made two changes to their lineup after openers Johnathan Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul were ruled out due to viral fever. Wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva returns to the XI, while young batter Kevylon Wickham makes his Test debut for the Caribbean side.
