In much-awaited news for government employees, the draft proposal for the 9th National Pay Scale has officially been forwarded for legal vetting. The move follows the cabinet's approval of the new salary structure under the ongoing administrative reform process.
According to official sources, the draft is currently undergoing legal examination by the Ministry of Law before the final gazette notification is issued. The new pay scale introduces structural adjustments, including revised annual increment rates across higher and middle-tier grades, rationalized house rent allowances, increased medical benefits, and the introduction of digital salary fixation through the iBAS++ system. Once the vetting process is successfully completed, separate statutory regulatory orders (SROs) covering different public sectors, civil administration, defense, and autonomous bodies will be officially published.
