To ensure specialized and advanced medical care for dengue patients, a 20-bed dedicated dengue ward has been inaugurated at the Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital. The new facility was officially opened during a ceremony held on hospital premises on Monday afternoon.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Rangpur Group Managing Director Nazmul Ahsan Sarkar and conducted by Additional Director Mirajul Muhsin, with Dr. Md. Wajed Ali, Acting Divisional Director of Health for Rangpur, attending as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Wajed Ali noted that while dengue is a mosquito-borne illness, timely treatment and close medical observation can effectively control complications. He added that the establishment of this separate 20-bed ward will streamline healthcare delivery for local patients. Hospital authorities emphasized that special care is being taken to ensure that financially disadvantaged and poor patients receive unhindered access to quality treatment during this crisis.
The event was also attended by Rangpur Health Directorate Assistant Director Dr. Md. Meskatul Abed, Rangpur Group Deputy Managing Director Ashraful Alam Al Amin, board directors Major (Retd.) Md. Nasim Uddin, Md. Mozammel Hossain Sarkar, Mosharaf Hossain Dipti, Hospital Director Dr. A.B.M. Abu Hanif, and College Principal Dr. Shariful Islam, alongside other officials and staff.
