Carrying the inspiring motto, "Let today's society and tomorrow's world blossom through intellect and mindfulness," the Abdul Gani Smriti Pathagar celebrated its successful completion of 29 years and stepped into its 30th year with an art competition, prize distribution ceremony, and cultural event.
The event was held on Wednesday afternoon (September 16) at 5:30 PM on the library premises. The art competition, featuring students from seven primary schools across the Galachipa municipality, was initially held on September 2. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners of the competition.
Conducted by the library's General Secretary, Md. Rakibul Hasan, the event featured esteemed guests who handed out prizes and certificates to the winners: Galachipa Government College Principal Forkan Kabir, Galachipa Upazila Social Services Officer Shafiul Islam Sayum, Shilpakala Academy General Secretary RokonuZZaman Khan, Galachipa Theatre President Mohammad Kamal Hossain, and Galachipa Press Club General Secretary Saimun Rahman Elite.
Out of 107 participating students, winners were awarded prizes, while consolation prizes were also distributed to encourage all other participants.
Speaking as the chief guest, Galachipa Government College Principal Md. Forkan Kabir remarked, "Such initiatives are of immense importance in fostering children's creativity. The children did not merely draw pictures; each of them expressed their inner thoughts, which will play a supportive role in developing their intellect and mindfulness." He called upon organizations to continue similar activities in the future to nurture student talent, while also urging conscious mothers in society to support such endeavors.
The ceremony was also attended by library members Sabuj Kumar Pal, Abul Kalam, Anup Debnath, Alok Karmakar, Nesar Uddin, M. A. Mannan, Samia Akhter Sami, Sathi Begum, Mukti Dutta, and Jewel Rana, among others.
Following the prize distribution, a vibrant cultural program featuring dance performances by students of 'Chander Haat' entertained the audience.
