An advocacy meeting on various issues concerning the health protection of persons with disabilities was held between government health officials, the family planning department, and the Friendship NGO's (FDIDP) project in Chilmari, Kurigram. The meeting took place at around 11:00 AM on Thursday in the conference room of the Upazila Health Complex. Presided over by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Aminul Islam, the meeting was addressed by Upazila Residential Medical Officer Abu Raihan as the chief guest. He stated that they always work for the health protection of people in society and pay special attention to persons with disabilities.
Special guests who addressed the event included Upazila Medical Officers Dr. Pranta Sarker, Dr. Rashedul Islam, Dr. Sohel Rana, Dr. Sourav Das, and Dr. Sumaiya Sabrin. They mentioned that they provide various forms of assistance and full government support for the medical treatment of disabled patients compared to other patients. They further added that upon contacting them regarding any type of disabled patient, they will make utmost efforts to resolve their issues, while thanking the Friendship NGO for such a noble initiative.
Also present at the meeting were individuals with disabilities from the FDIDP project, along with Rehabilitation Officers and Technical Supervisors Montazul Rahman, Hafizur Rahman, Anisur Rahman, and many others. The advocacy meeting was conducted and moderated by FDIDP Project Manager Ruhul Amin Sarkar.
