Allegations have surfaced against a man named Yunus Dhali for fabricating a will deed in the name of a deceased person to claim land and harass the victimized family in Naodoba union under Jajira upazila of Shariatpur. The victimized family reported that following the death of their uncle, the accused is harassing them by filing lawsuits based on such fraudulent land claims, prompting them to seek legal assistance.
According to the heirs of the deceased Khaled Dhali and local sources, Abdul Khaled Dhali—son of the late Kalu Dhali from the Kolom Dhali Kandi area of Naodoba union—was born on May 12, 1937, and passed away on October 30, 2014. His death is duly registered with the Naodoba Union Parishad. However, nearly two months after his passing, on December 29, 2014, a claim of land transfer was raised through a will deed executed in the name of Yunus Dhali. The family alleged that Khaled Dhali's heirs are being continuously harassed based on that document.
Farid Dhali, son of Khaled Dhali, stated that his father enjoyed and possessed his paternal inherited property throughout his lifetime. Even after his death, they have been peacefully residing on that land. Yet, nearly 12 years after his father's death, Yunus Dhali claims that his father supposedly sold the land to him, and lawsuits have been filed against them in court based on this assertion.
Farid Dhali further stated that they regularly pay mutation charges and up-to-date land development taxes for the property over which Yunus Dhali has claimed ownership and filed a lawsuit. According to his claims, the date of land registration mentioned in the lawsuit falls nearly two months after his father's death. As a consequence of these false claims, their under-construction structures have been demolished. He also claimed that considering all aspects, the court ruled in their favor.

Construction materials are being ruined, causing irreparable financial losses, and they are unable to carry out any work.
Addressing the allegations, Yunus Dhali asserted that his documents are authentic. Due to negligence by the lawyer in the initial lawsuit filed in court, the verdict went in Farid Dhali's favor, he claimed, adding that he subsequently filed another lawsuit, while Farid Dhali has also filed a counter-suit. The matter is currently under investigation, he noted.
Yunus Dhali's son-in-law, Chunnu Dhali, stated that Farid Dhali and Yunus Dhali are cousins and share good relations. If any misunderstandings exist, both parties can sit together and resolve the issue, he suggested. While both sides are engaging in litigation and seeking assistance from journalists, no local individual is taking the initiative to resolve the matter responsibly, he remarked, expressing his desire for journalists to take the lead in bringing both parties together to settle the dispute and preserve family ties.
Regarding the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abdus Salam of Padma South Police Station stated that a land dispute exists between Farid Dhali and Yunus Dhali, resulting in pending lawsuits between the two parties. The case is currently being investigated by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
