Allegations of a major robbery have surfaced in Narail, where valuables worth approximately one crore taka—including gold ornaments and cash—were looted. The incident took place when a gang of dacoits broke into a residence in the Narail Sadar Pourashava area by cutting window grills, holding the family members hostage, and looting their belongings, according to the victims.

Ujjwal Roy, the Narail district correspondent, reported that the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday (November 1) at the residence of Engineer Manik Kumar Biswas in the Bhadulidanga area of the Pourashava.

According to the victimized family and police sources, a gang of 6 to 7 dacoits broke into the ground-floor window of Manik Kumar Biswas's house—son of the late Sudhir Kumar Biswas—in the dead of night on Sunday. They held the family members hostage, tied their hands and feet, and rampaged through the house. The victims claimed that the dacoits looted valuables, including gold ornaments and cash, worth over one crore taka.

Samor Kumar Biswas, elder brother of Manik Kumar Biswas and owner of the house, stated that in the early hours, the dacoits entered the house by cutting the grill and took them hostage. They subsequently looted 32 to 40 bhoris of gold, one lakh taka in cash, cameras, and other valuable items, totaling goods worth around one crore taka.

Rupok Sen, son-in-law of Manik Kumar Biswas, mentioned that family members living in various districts had gathered at the house on the occasion of Durga Puja. Everyone had gold jewelry and valuable items intended for use during the festival, all of which were taken by the dacoits from every room in the house.
