Bar Aulia Bakery and Kashbon Hotel Fined in Chandanaish Drive Against Adulteration
UNO Md. Abdur Rahman issuing a fine to Syedabad Bar Aulia Bakery in Chandanaish during an anti-adulteration drive.

The Chandanaish Upazila Administration conducted an anti-adulteration drive to ensure food safety, fining two establishments a total of BDT 25,000. Syedabad Bar Aulia Bakery was fined BDT 10,000, and Kashbon Hotel in Chandanaish Sadar was fined BDT 15,000.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Abdur Rahman led the operation on Thursday evening (October 29) in the Syedabad area of Hashimpur Union and Chandanaish Sadar.

According to administration sources, Bar Aulia Bakery had long been producing food in unhygienic conditions. During the drive, evidence was found of using ammonia—which is severely hazardous to health—along with prohibited artificial food dyes and flavors. Consequently, the bakery was fined BDT 10,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009. Meanwhile, Kashbon Hotel was fined BDT 15,000 under the same law for preparing and serving food in unsanitary conditions.

Speaking on the matter, UNO Md. Abdur Rahman said, "Ensuring safe food is our top priority. Our drives against adulterated food and harmful chemicals will continue."
