Police have recovered the half-decomposed body of an unidentified young man (30), with his hands and feet tied and stuffed in a sack, from the bank of the Arial Khan River in Narsingdi. On Saturday (October 31) morning, the body was recovered from the riverbank on the east side of Telipara School in Dowakarchar union of Raipura upazila.

According to police and local sources, locals spotted a yellow sack containing a body on the riverbank and informed the police. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the sack-bound, half-decomposed body. The victim's hands were found tied with Scotch tape and his feet with cloth. Slash marks and injury marks were visible on various parts of the body. Due to decomposition of the face and body parts, immediate identification was not possible. Police and locals suspect that miscreants killed the youth three to four days ago and dumped the body on the riverbank.

There are slash marks on the throat and various parts of the body. During recovery, his hands and feet were tied. Police initially suspect that he was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped here.

The OC further added that efforts are underway to identify the deceased. After preparing the inquest report, the body has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
