To overcome the country's fuel and electricity crisis, biogas plants must be established in every household. Those who have only 3 to 5 cows or a hundred ducks and chickens should take this initiative. The government will provide comprehensive cooperation in this regard. This will bring personal financial benefits and allow individuals to contribute to the country's development, which is the duty of every responsible citizen.

State Minister for Youth and Sports of the Government of Bangladesh, Aminul Haque, made the above remarks on Saturday (October 31) afternoon in Syedpur, Nilphamari. He made this call as the chief guest at an event organized to inspect a biogas plant in Isdhal village of Kamarpukur union under Syedpur upazila. Through journalists, he urged the youth of all levels across the country to respond to this call and come forward.

During the event, he distributed checks of Tk 1,50,000 each, totaling Tk 7.5 lakh, as government loans to 5 entrepreneurs in the district to establish biogas plants. At the same time, he inaugurated the supply operation of entrepreneur Mahbub Mukul's biogas plant by igniting a gas stove. Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Humayun Kabir, Syedpur Political District BNP President Alhaj Principal Abdul Gafur Sarkar, and entrepreneur Mahbub Mukul spoke at the event.

The program was presided over by Bilgir Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth and Sports, Nilphamari district. Syedpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farah Fateha Takmila, Syedpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim Reza, Upazila Sports Association Member Secretary Hayat Ali Jafari, BNP Vice President S.M. Obaidur Rahman, along with district, upazila, and union BNP leaders, the upazila secretary of Jamaat, and young entrepreneurs were present. The event was conducted by Matiur Rahman, Syedpur Upazila Youth and Sports Officer.

The entrepreneurs who received loan checks from the hands of the State Minister are Nilufa Begum, wife of Habibur Rahman from Panchpukur union of Nilphamari Sadar upazila; Mamota Yasmin, wife of Mominur Rahman of Paschim Golmunda in Jaldhaka; Sohrab Hossain, son of the late Moyez Uddin of Dowabari; Wahiduzzaman, son of Oliar Rahman of Khariza Golna; and Bokul Hossain, son of Moshfiqur Rahman of Kalkaut Mirganj.

The State Minister further said that young men and women are one of the country's greatest assets. To utilize this asset effectively, the Department of Youth Development is working with the slogan "Skilled youth will build the country, Bangladesh for all." The youth are being made skilled by providing training in about 83 subjects. Biogas plants are a reflection of that initiative. Everyone should come forward like today's entrepreneur in such self-employment and social development activities. Only then will the country move forward.

He added that fuel gas and organic fertilizer are being produced through biogas plants. Work is underway on technology to generate electricity through these plants. If plants are established in every household, it will help alleviate the electricity crisis, alongside gas and fertilizer. Entrepreneurs will benefit financially by gaining employment for themselves and helping others with gas and electricity, while contributing to the country's socio-economic development, which is the duty of a patriotic citizen.

In response to journalists' questions, the State Minister said that the government wants to build a playground in every union, and steps have been taken accordingly. Continuing this, stadiums at the district and upazila levels will be modernized to ensure a suitable environment for sports. This will keep the youth free from drugs and all crimes, giving them the opportunity to showcase their sports skills and achieve success at national and international levels.

To make the youth fit for the modern world, we have placed high priority on building a skilled workforce in freelancing. Therefore, training in technological subjects including AI has been given high importance, so that they can become self-reliant by earning foreign currency while staying in the country. Additionally, education activities related to this have been included in primary schools to make the future generation capable in the technological field, and future Bangladesh will reap the benefits.
