To maintain the overall law and order situation in the capital and ensure the safety of city residents, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has beefed up security at various important points, entry points, and flyovers across Dhaka. Special checkposts have been set up in these areas to search vehicles.
The information was disclosed in a press release sent by the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP on Saturday.
According to the press release, special surveillance is being maintained on the capital's main roads, important intersections, and entry points. Intensive searches are being conducted on motorcycles and suspicious vehicles to prevent any kind of chaos and criminal activity. At the same time, special operations are ongoing across the capital.
Checkposts and picket duties have been reinforced at various important locations. Additionally, the number of thana mobile patrols, foot patrols, and honda patrols has been increased.
The DMP stated that members of the Detective Branch (DB), Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have been deployed in the field to prevent major crimes or sabotage.
All divisions of the DMP have been placed on high alert to maintain public safety, peace, and order. The police have also sought the cooperation of city residents in maintaining law and order.
