A mobile court conducted a drive to monitor fertilizer management and sales activities in Raipura, Narsingdi, fining a fertilizer dealer 30,000 Taka and two shopkeepers 3,000 Taka each, totaling 36,000 Taka. During the drive, 210 kg of fertilizer valued at 5,632 Taka was seized and subsequently sold to locals at fair prices through a spot auction.
The drive was conducted on Thursday afternoon in the Lochonpara and Jhangi Shibpur markets of the upazila by Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Masud Rana. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers Firuz Alam, Humayun Kabir, and other relevant officials were present, with assistance from police and Ansar members. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mustafizur Rahman stated that regular monitoring is being conducted to prevent artificial crises and irregularities in fertilizer subsidies, and such drives will continue. Upazila Executive Officer Md. Masud Rana added that special drives are being conducted to ensure proper market management amid prevailing concerns over fertilizer.
