CHATTOGRAM — A Chattogram court on Monday granted remand for 63 foreign nationals arrested in connection with an alleged online scam operation, court and police sources said.
Police said the accused were rounded up in a raid on suspicion of running fraudulent online schemes targeting victims at home and abroad. Electronic devices and documents were seized during the operation.
Investigators told the court that custodial interrogation was needed to identify the ringleaders, trace money trails and determine the scale of the network.
Police said efforts are underway to find out whether a local support network helped the group operate, and further arrests may follow.
