Deprived teachers held a human chain demanding the appointment of 52 deprived job-seekers by October 1. The human chain took place on Sunday afternoon in front of the District Primary Education Office under the banner of the deprived teachers of Nilphamari district. Job seekers Nur Amin, Protima Rani, and Fatema Akhter spoke at the human chain.
The speakers mentioned that they participated in the 2025 recruitment process, completed all steps, and were ultimately recommended for appointment. Out of the 213 finally recommended candidates in the district, 52 were deprived of their appointment letters. They stated that they were subjected to unfair treatment and that the specific reason for their deprivation was not mentioned. They demanded that appointment letters be issued to them as well by October 1. Prior to this, the organizers submitted a memorandum containing seven demands to the District Primary Education Officer.
Deprived job-seeker Nur Amin said they are facing social disgrace. Instead of teaching in classrooms right now, they are forced to protest. He demanded to know clearly why they are being deprived of appointment letters. Acting District Primary Education Officer Rabiul Islam stated that the deprived teachers submitted a memorandum to him and that the matter has been communicated to the higher authorities.
