Main News: A BADC fertilizer dealer has been fined 10,000 BDT for illegally stockpiling fertilizers in the Bishkhali area of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila. Additionally, 30 sacks of stockpiled TSP fertilizer were sold to local farmers at government-regulated prices. The drive was conducted on Thursday morning at M/S Souvik Enterprise in the Bishkhali area, where the institution was fined 10,000 BDT. A total of 50,500 BDT, including the fine and fertilizer sales proceeds, was deposited into the government treasury. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Deepa Rani Sarkar, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Masud Rana, and Agriculture Extension Officer Abdullah Al Masud were present during the operation. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Masud Rana stated that there is no scope to illegally stockpile fertilizers allocated for farmers or create artificial crises, adding that regular market monitoring is underway to ensure fair prices and strict legal action will be taken against irregularities.
