World Tourism Day 2026 was celebrated in Rangpur on Sunday (September 27) with the national slogan "Future Tourism in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence." On this occasion, a comprehensive discussion meeting was jointly organized by the Rangpur District Administration and Tourism Motel at the conference room of the Rangpur Deputy Commissioner, presided over by Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan. Department of Archaeology Deputy Director Tanvirul Islam, Tourism Motel Manager Md. Salem Sheikh, Chikli Water Park GM Abu Hena Md.
Sarwar Jahan Shamim, Bhinna Jagat AGM Md. Rifayet Bari, and Tourist Police ASP Md. Mozammel Haq delivered speeches as special guests, highlighting the potential of local tourism and technological integration.
Government officials, journalists, and representatives from various professions were present at the meeting. Earlier in the day, a colorful and vibrant rally was brought out from the Rangpur Deputy Commissioner's office premises, which paraded through the city's main thoroughfares before returning to the same location for the discussion session.
