**A man named Shahriar Zaman (40) was stabbed by miscreants in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj district.
The incident took place around 8:00 PM on Wednesday (November 4) at Gachihata Bazar in Katiadi upazila, Kishoreganj.**
The injured victim, Shahriar Zaman (40), is the eldest son of former Member of Parliament for Kishoreganj-2 and Jamaat leader Major (Retd.) Mohammad Akhteruzzaman Ranjan.

Around 8:00 PM, miscreants launched a sudden knife attack on him and fled the scene. He was subsequently rescued in a bloody state and rushed to the Katiadi Upazila Health Complex for medical treatment. Following primary treatment, he was transferred to Dhaka for advanced medical care.
Regarding the matter, Katiadi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Syed Md. Shahriar stated that Shahriar Zaman sustained major lacerations across various parts of his body. Although his physical condition is currently stable, he has been advised to be taken to a higher-level hospital in Dhaka to avoid complications.
Katiadi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rafiqul Islam remarked that police were dispatched to the spot immediately upon receiving information. While the identities of the attackers are yet to be ascertained, police are investigating the matter with utmost gravity.
