Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Joint Secretary General of BNP and Administrator of Mymensingh Zila Parishad, stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is attempting to conceal its own political stance by fabricating allegations of a secret understanding between BNP and the Awami League.
"Spreading fairy tales against BNP will not hide Jamaat's covert relationship with the Awami League. It is an open secret that Jamaat maintains illicit political ties not only with the Awami League but also with its so-called master nation," he said.
He made these remarks as the chief guest during an exchange of views meeting with ward-level leaders of the Baghaber Union BNP and its associate organizations at the Munsirhat Madrasa ground in Dhobaura Upazila, Mymensingh, on Thursday (October 29) afternoon.
Prince strongly criticized the statement made by Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, who alleged that there was a secret understanding between BNP and Awami League surrounding the violent events of October 28, 2006.
"The Jamaat Secretary General's claim that BNP had a secret alliance with the Awami League is completely baseless, politically motivated, and a reflection of political dishonesty. People cannot be misled by unfounded accusations against BNP meant to hide Jamaat's own political failures and historical liabilities," Prince added.
Terming the events of October 28, 2006, a shameful chapter in the country's political history, the BNP leader noted that the responsibility for the violence committed in broad daylight cannot be masked by tales of political compromise. Bringing up that incident to malign BNP is regrettable and an attempt to create political instability.

Denying BNP's long political struggle and movement against Awami League's rule means denying historical truth.
Addressing Jamaat, he urged, "Do not try to cover up your political bankruptcy by spreading fictional stories of an alliance with BNP. History can be distorted, but historical truth cannot be erased."
Meanwhile, looking ahead to the upcoming Union Parishad elections, Syed Emran Saleh Prince instructed party leaders and activists to remain united. He informed that based on the opinions, popularity, and acceptability among local activists, one candidate in each union would be endorsed by the BNP. He warned that strict organizational action would be taken against anyone defying party decisions. He also called on everyone to remain vigilant against potential misdeeds by Awami League associates centered around December.
Chaired by Baghaber Union BNP Convener and former Chairman Farhad Rabbani Suman and moderated by Member Secretary Sirajul Islam Sarkar, the meeting was addressed by Dhobaura Upazila BNP Member Secretary Anisur Rahman Manik, Joint Conveners Abdul Kuddus and Mahbubul Alam Babul, District Jubo Dal Vice President Abul Kashem Dollar, former District Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Farooq Hossain, and Upazila Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Sirajul Islam, among others.
Local BNP and associate organization leaders, including Md. Shahjahan, Abdus Shahid Akanda, Mahbubul Alam Masum, Aminul Islam, Idris Ali, and Alal Uddin, were also present.
