Md. Nurunnabi Sarkar, Organizing Secretary of the Kurigram district branch of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has resigned from his position, raising allegations of policy decisions, ideological deviations, and autocratic activities within the party. He has announced his withdrawal from all organizational posts, including his primary membership in the party.
He made this announcement on Sunday morning (November 1) during a press conference organized at the Kurigram Press Club. He also mentioned that he has sent his formal resignation letter to the party's central committee.
In his written statement, Nurunnabi Sarkar stated that he has served as the Kurigram district NCP's organizing secretary with dedication and honesty for a long time, and has also worked to strengthen the grassroots of the party. However, due to recent policy decisions, ideological deviations, and autocratic activities within the party, the expectations of general workers and supporters are no longer being fulfilled, he remarked.

He further stated that under such circumstances, it is no longer possible for him to remain in the party while maintaining his self-respect and ideals. He expressed his gratitude to the leaders, supporters, and residents of the district who cooperated with him during his tenure.
In response, Mukul Mia, Convener of the Kurigram district branch of the National Citizen Party (NCP), stated that Nurunnabi Sarkar had been organizationally inactive due to some personal family issues. The allegations of policy deviations, ideological deviations, and autocratic activities that he raised during the press conference are entirely fabricated claims, he said, adding that the matter of resignation is strictly his personal decision.
