A media advocacy meeting under the 'Krishi Somriddhi Project' was held with the objective of expanding agriculture and agro-based businesses, creating new entrepreneurs, and modernizing the agricultural sector in Gaibandha.
The meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon (September 16) at 3:00 PM in Dakshin Dhanghara village under Gaibandha Sadar Upazila. Organized under the banner of 'KRISHI CONNECT', the session focused heavily on agro-business and entrepreneurial development, utilizing online platforms and mobile apps to drive agricultural growth, and strengthening communication among sector stakeholders. Key discussions highlighted the immense potential and entrepreneurial opportunities in poultry, fisheries, cattle, and sheep feed businesses. Speakers strongly emphasized integrating farmers and entrepreneurs with modern technology and digital marketplaces to expand commercial horizons.
Speakers noted that agriculture remains a vital backbone of Bangladesh’s rural economy and lifestyle. By blending agriculture with digital technology, communication between producers, entrepreneurs, and consumers can be streamlined, unlocking new business opportunities and widening market reach.
The meeting was presided over by Hosne Ara Begum, Gaibandha District President of Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF). Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amiya Prapan Chakrabarty Arka attended as the chief guest, alongside Secretariat Member Md. Nadim Mahmud Tomal and other distinguished guests. Journalists from various print and electronic media outlets actively participated, deliberating on modern tech-driven agricultural initiatives and business prospects.
Organizers shared that the core mission of the 'Krishi Somriddhi Project' is to foster agro-business growth, support entrepreneurial development, encourage digital literacy through apps and platforms, and enhance institutional collaboration. The project is implemented by the Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) with collaborative support from South Korea’s Smile Together Partnership (STP).
