Officials of the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP), accompanied by local Member of Parliament Atikul Alam Shawon, inspected various damaged and dilapidated roads within the Chandina municipality.

The inspection took place on Monday morning as part of a review of ongoing works under proposed sub-projects within the RUTDP framework. During the visit, the local MP personally showed officials the fractured and ruined sections of the roadways, highlighting the gravity of the current conditions. The RUTDP delegation included Additional Chief Engineer and Project Director Md. Golam Yazdani, Deputy Project Director Faruk Hossain, and other relevant officials, who examined the road conditions and discussed potential developmental and renovation strategies.

Comilla-7 (Chandina) MP Atikul Alam Shawon stated that past interventions on Chandina municipal roads lacked proper planning, resulting in severe public suffering. "We are now systematically identifying these problems and initiating solutions. I ask the people of the municipality and upazila for a little time. Gradually, all roads will be developed and repaired," he said. He further noted that the construction work on the Madhaiya-Nawabpur and Mokambari-Aoral roads by a contractor was proceeding at an unsatisfactory pace, and the matter has been brought to the attention of authorities to accelerate progress and alleviate public hardship.
