An NGO worker named Anwar Hossain (46) was killed when a bus ran over his motorcycle in the Munshidpur area along the Pabna-Ishwardi highway on Tuesday morning.
The victim, son of late Abdul Haque from Tebaria village in Rajshahi's Baghmara upazila, worked as a programmer at the BRAC office in Ishwardi's Dashuria, where he lived in a rented house with his family.
According to Pakshi Highway Police Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam Azad, Anwar was heading toward Ishwardi from Pabna on his motorcycle for field work around 7:30 AM when a speeding bus hit him from behind. He was crushed under the vehicle and dragged for a considerable distance, resulting in immediate death. Upon receiving information, police and fire service personnel recovered the body from the scene. Legal procedures regarding the accident are currently underway.
