RAB-8, Barishal arrested a man named Md. Elahi Azad (35) with 4 kg of cannabis (ganja) in Nesharabad upazila of Pirojpur. He was arrested on Thursday (September 25) night during a raid conducted in the Panchbeki Launchghat Bazar area of Nesharabad upazila.
According to a RAB-8 press briefing, acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted a man attempting to flee, and subsequent searches in front of local witnesses led to the recovery of 4 kg of ganja from his possession.
Arrested Elahi Azad is the son of the late Abdul Mannan and the late Sahera Begum from South Boya village under Union No. 1 Baldia of Nesharabad upazila. RAB-8 stated that the seized drugs were confiscated, and he has been handed over to Nesharabad Police Station for legal action under the Narcotics Control Act.
