PIROJPUR — The general manager responsible for power supply in Pirojpur has been stood down following a major outage that hit the district, officials confirmed.
The action came after the prime minister addressed the disruption, directing the authorities to fix accountability and restore normal supply without delay.
Residents suffered hours without electricity as the outage disrupted households, businesses, hospitals and water supply across affected areas.
Officials said supply has largely been restored and an inquiry is underway to determine the cause of the failure and prevent a repeat.
