A rally and discussion meeting were held in Pirojpur to observe World Heart Day. The event was organized on Tuesday morning (September 29, 2026) under the initiative of the Pirojpur Heart Foundation. Marking the occasion, a colorful rally started from in front of the district hospital, paraded through various main roads of the city, and concluded at the Zilla Parishad premises. Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held focusing on raising public awareness about heart disease prevention and ways to maintain proper heart health.
The meeting was presided over by Pirojpur Heart Foundation President Principal Alamgir Hossain and conducted by Member Secretary Rafiqul Islam Dipu. Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Suphal Chandra Goldar attended as the chief guest. Special guests included Senior Physician of the Pirojpur Diabetes Association Dr. Habibur Rahman, former Heart Foundation General Secretary Moniruzzaman Nasim Ali, District Hospital Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Nizam Uddin, District BNP Member Secretary S.M. Saidul Islam Kismat, and District Business Association President Harun Or Rashid alongside General Secretary Ahsanul Kabir.
Speakers at the discussion emphasized the importance of regular physical exercise, healthy dietary habits, quitting smoking, routine health check-ups, and building widespread public awareness to reduce cardiovascular risks. They also stressed the necessity of promptly identifying individuals with heart conditions and bringing them under proper medical care. Members of the Heart Foundation, local physicians, business leaders, and people from various professions actively participated in the program.
