A devastating fire gutted six business establishments on the old Kapriyapotti road in the heart of Pirojpur town on Thursday (September 24) around 11:30 PM. The affected businesses include M/s Jahangir Tailors and Fabrics, Joy Tea Store, Pirojpur Hardware Store, Ayesha Store, Akon Cycle, and Masud and Brothers.

According to affected traders, the fire is initially suspected to have originated from the direction of Jahangir Tailors and Fabrics and Joy Tea Store, though the exact cause and origin of the fire could not be confirmed immediately. Based on preliminary estimates by the traders, the fire may have caused damages worth approximately 25 to 30 lakh Taka, though the exact extent of the loss is yet to be fully assessed. Upon receiving the news, Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control. Relevant sources stated that the exact cause of the fire and total damages will be confirmed following an investigation.
