Police have arrested Hasanur Rahman (22), the accused son in a sensational father-murder case in Rangpur. Hasanur was arrested from Pirganj upazila on Sunday at 9:30 PM. He is the son of Mahbub Rahman from North Tambulpur Masterpara village under Tambulpur union. The information was confirmed on Monday (September 28) afternoon by Pirganj Police Station OC Selim Malik.

Citing the case statement, he informed that Hasanur Rahman used to misbehave with his mother Hasna Begum and remain upset due to family disputes. To break the anger, mother-in-law Morjina বেগম (Morjina Begum) insisted that Hasanur and his mother eat together holding hands. At that moment, out of anger, Hasanur pushed his mother to the ground. Seeing this, Hasanur's father, Mahbub, struck Hasanur with a piece of bamboo fire-wood close at hand. At that time, Hasanur struck his father Mahbub a heavy blow on the right shoulder with a sharp fruit-cutting knife. Mahbub was seriously injured and bleeding. Later, he was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where he died around 8:30 PM while undergoing treatment. In this connection, on September 26, Hasna Begum filed a murder case against her own son Hasanur at Pirganj Police Station. Since then, Hasanur had been in hiding. Police skillfully arrested Hasanur Rahman on Sunday.
