Police have arrested two accused individuals and recovered a stolen 150cc Honda motorcycle following a house theft incident in Mithapukur, Rangpur. The arrestees are Md. Riyadh Babu (২৩), son of Belal from Chithli South Para, and Sudan Chandra (২৮), son of the late Jagadish Chandra from Singadar village in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila.
According to Mithapukur police sources, the 150cc Honda motorcycle was stolen from the residence of Md. Atiquzzaman Sohel (৪৫), son of the late Amzad Hossain in Chithli South Para, during the night of September 20, 2026. Following a complaint by the victim and a subsequently filed case, police utilized information technology to arrest Riyadh Babu. Based on his initial confession, a raid was conducted in the Lalmonirhat Sadar area late last night (September 22), leading to the arrest of Sudan Chandra and the recovery of the motorcycle.
Mithapukur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin stated that legal action has been taken against the arrestees and they have been forwarded to the court. Police investigations are ongoing to find out if anyone else is involved in the theft.
