Three people, including a woman, died in separate incidents involving road accidents and a lightning strike across Satkhira on Saturday (September 26). According to local police, Rubina Khatun (25) was killed by a sudden lightning strike while cutting grass behind her home in Kachua village, Assasuni upazila, at noon.
Later in the evening, two separate motorcycle accidents claimed the lives of two young men: Rakibul Hasan (19) died when his motorcycle collided head-on with a van at Chhaighoria intersection on the Satkhira-Jashore highway around 8:00 PM, and Mehedi Hasan Sabuz (28) was crushed to death by a runaway covered van on the Patkelghata overbridge along the Khulna-Satkhira highway around 8:30 PM.
Local police stations and highway authorities recovered the bodies and initiated necessary legal procedures.
