A mobile court in Roumari, Kurigram, sentenced a young man named Md. Ismail Hossain (26)—son of Md. Oli Hossain of Roumari village—to one year of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 100 Taka for consuming Yaba. Acting on a tip-off on Saturday afternoon (September 26) around 1:30 PM, Roumari police led by SIs Shahanur and Arman conducted a drive and arrested Ismail red-handed while he was consuming Yaba.
He was subsequently presented before the mobile court presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Mahbubul Hasan, who handed down the sentence. Roumari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md.
