President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon public and private universities across the country to take effective measures toward fostering international-standard innovative education and research alongside building skilled human resources.
Speaking during a courtesy meeting with a delegation from the Central University of Science and Technology (CUST) at Bangabhaban on Thursday afternoon (September 24, 2026), the President emphasized that science and technology-based higher education serves as the primary engine for sustainable national development. He noted that enhancing students' technological competencies, creativity, and research capacities is essential to tackle the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Led by CUST Board of Trustees Chairman Md. Zahidul Islam, the delegation briefed the President on the university's career-oriented academic programs—including artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and nursing—alongside its ongoing infrastructure development and future expansion plans. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Treasurer, members of the Board of Trustees, and senior secretaries to the President were present during the meeting.
