Actors' Equity Bangladesh (Ahbinoy Shilpi Sangha) has indefinitely suspended the memberships of actresses Tanjin Tisha and Samia Othoi following an unresolved physical assault allegation and public feud originating on a drama set. The organizational decision was formally made public on Friday night, November 6, 2026, after both performers repeatedly ignored official show-cause notices and failed to comply with binding arbitration terms.
The official suspension letters—signed by General Secretary Rashed Mamun Apu and Organizational Secretary Masud Rana Mithu—were dispatched on October 4 following an earlier show-cause notice issued on July 7. Rashed Mamun Apu explained that the organization held extensive five-hour arbitration sessions to mediate the dispute peacefully. Both actresses had agreed to release written apologies and joint video statements to resolve the matter; however, neither complied with the directive nor responded to subsequent official correspondence or phone calls. Consequently, the Arbitration Committee recommended an indefinite membership suspension, which was unanimously ratified by the Executive Committee.

Othoi took to Facebook Live alleging that Tisha struck her repeatedly and aggressively outside of the script, causing facial injuries. Tisha vehemently denied the accusations, asserting that her physical actions were purely performance-based improvisations required for her role as a neurodivergent character. Following Friday’s announcement, Tisha hosted a 25-minute Facebook Live session acknowledging her non-compliance with the video apology directive but maintaining that she committed no professional wrongdoing.
