Salman Khan Unveils Release Date for Galwan Clash Film 'Matribhumi: May War Rest in Peace'
High-altitude Galwan Valley region serving as the historical backdrop for the upcoming film.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially announced the release date for his upcoming military drama, titled ‘Matribhumi: May War Rest in Peace’ (formerly titled Battle of Galwan). Attending a special glimpse-launch event in Mumbai on Friday, November 6, 2026, the actor directly addressed and dismissed widespread rumors regarding shooting delays and government censorship hurdles.

The film is inspired by the fierce June 2020 Galwan Valley border clash between Indian and Chinese armed forces. Speculation had surfaced claiming that the Defense Ministry and censor board raised objections to diplomatic depictions of China, forcing mandatory reshoots and a title modification. Expressing annoyance at the reports, Salman Khan labeled them entirely baseless, clarifying that the film focuses strictly on the human sacrifices of soldiers and the struggles faced by their families rather than promoting negative political agendas.

Originally slated for an April 2026 premiere, the movie’s release was rescheduled to optimize theatrical distribution. Producers have now locked December 4, 2026, for its nationwide and global theatrical premiere.
