Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahfuzur Rahman granted bail to film actress Pori Moni on a ৳500 bail bond after she surrendered before the court on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The surrender followed an arrest warrant issued against her a day prior in an assault, vandalism, and intimidation case filed by businessman and Dhaka Boat Club Director Nasir Uddin Mahmud.
Pori Moni arrived at the Dhaka court premises around 9:30 AM and entered the courtroom at 11:40 AM to file her bail application. On Wednesday, November 4, the court had issued an arrest warrant after rejecting a time petition submitted by her lawyer, Nilanjana Rifat Surabhi, citing allergic illness. Plaintiff's counsel Abul Kalam Mohammad Sohel successfully argued that Pori Moni's repeated absences were delaying proceedings.
