DHAKA — Government legal aid services assisted two lakh poor litigants this year through free lawyers, village mediation and mobile legal clinics.

Officials say eight in ten aided cases settled through mediation, sparing families years of litigation costs.

The programme now covers domestic violence, land disputes and labour claims in all 64 districts.
