DHAKA — The country's 32 community radio stations now reach an estimated 30 million listeners, broadcasting in local dialects on everything from paddy prices to prenatal care.

During last season's floods, stations in the haor belt broadcast water levels hourly, credited by officials with speeding evacuations.

Regulators have approved 10 more licences, prioritising the coastal and hill districts.
