The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 465 suspects and filed 45 cases during comprehensive 24-hour law enforcement operations conducted across various divisions in the capital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of DMP Media and Public Relations Division, Niaz Mehedi, confirmed the developments on Wednesday (September 23, 2026).
According to official division breakdowns, Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests at 90, followed by Motijheel Division (83), Tejgaon Division (80), Wari Division (64), Ramna Division (38), Lalbagh Division (38), Uttara Division (34), Gulshan Division (33), and the Detective Branch (DB) with 5 arrests. During the multi-division raids, law enforcement officers recovered one local one-shooter gun, a lead cartridge, two knives, 50 kilograms of cannabis, 299 Yaba pills, and 23 bottles of foreign liquor. Police also seized a pickup truck, 11 mobile phones, steel rods, wooden stamps, and BDT 4,500 in cash, while successfully rescuing one victim. Legal proceedings against the arrestees are currently underway.
