Following a formal murder case filed by the father of former Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Suri, the police have officially arrested his junior companion, Ahmed Shahriar Reza Dweep, and are preparing to seek a 7-day remand in court.

Speaking on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mostafiz, duty officer at the Naval Police Turag Outpost, confirmed that Dweep has been formally arrested in connection with the murder case lodged earlier in the day by the victim's father, KM Enayetul Karim, at Uttarkhan Police Station against unidentified accused individuals. Police are preparing to present Dweep before the magistrate court shortly, requesting a seven-day remand for intensive interrogation.

Tahsif went missing on the evening of October 27 after leaving his Uttara Sector 18 residence following a call from Dweep, with CCTV footage capturing the two meeting near the Rajuk Uttara Apartment Project. His body was subsequently recovered from the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat on October 28. Rejecting claims that Tahsif drowned after jumping into the river—noting that his son was an expert swimmer—Mr. Karim pressed for a full homicide investigation. Following initial shadow investigations and the recovery of an unplated Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle in Tongi by the PBI, custody of Dweep was transferred to the Naval Police, who have now formally arrested him as the primary suspect.
