Bangladesh visa and 'No Visa Required' (NVR) processing services at diplomatic missions worldwide have been temporarily suspended following a technical breakdown of the central Machine Readable Visa (MRV) server in Dhaka.
The disruption was confirmed in emergency notices issued on Monday night (September 28, 2026) by several Bangladeshi diplomatic posts, including the Bangladesh Embassies in Bangkok and Lisbon. According to official statements from the missions, applicants are experiencing issues submitting visa forms or securing processing due to the central server crash. Technical engineering teams under the Department of Immigration and Passports are working to restore central server connectivity. Diplomatic missions have advised travelers to defer non-essential travel plans requiring immediate visa processing until the system is restored, adding that processing will resume as soon as confirmation is received from Dhaka.
