Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ahmed Azam Khan has warned that conspirators both at home and abroad are actively plotting to derail Bangladesh’s economic recovery and democratic reconstruction efforts under Prime Minister Tariq Rahman.

Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting commemorating National Revolution and Solidarity Day at the Liberation War Museum in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Minister highlighted recent unrest in the readymade garments (RMG) sector as evidence of deliberate sabotage. He asserted that anti-democratic elements wish to keep the country's economy and democratic infrastructure fragile.

Highlighting the Ministry’s key priorities, Ahmed Azam Khan announced that work has officially commenced to compile an authentic list of genuine martyrs of the Liberation War. Acknowledging the immense challenge and external resistance to this project, he stated that the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs is holding roundtable discussions across all levels of society to forge a solid national consensus. He urged the nation to embrace the spirit of November 7, the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the principles of the late Begum Khaleda Zia, and the leadership of PM Tariq Rahman to build a prosperous, sovereign democratic nation.
