Utilizing the digital Kobo Toolbox, 36 field workers from DSCC and the Communicable Disease Control (CDC) unit of the DGHS scientifically inspected 2,250 households. Based on Breteau, House, Container, and Pupa indices, the survey categorized 29 wards as high-risk, 28 as medium-risk, and 18 as general-risk, identifying active Aedes larvae in 322 homes.
Administrator Salam emphasized that 50.9% of larvae were found in domestic containers—including plastic buckets (14.21%), plastic drums (11.22%), basement runoff (9.98%), plastic mugs (9.23%), and flower pots (5.99%). The comb drive involves synchronized larviciding, adulticiding, canal and drain clearance, public awareness via mosques and miking, and strict mobile court prosecutions against property owners with stagnant water. Senior municipal officials, including the Chief Waste Management Officer and Chief Health Officer, attended the launch.
