Ex-BAF Lieutenant Tahsif Suri's Father Rejects PBI Companion's Claim, Demands Murder Probe

The father of former Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Suri has firmly rejected claims that his son jumped into the river while being chased, asserting that Tahsif was a certified swimmer and alleging an active attempt to misdirect the investigation into his mysterious death.

Speaking on Friday, October 30, 2026, Tahsif's father, AKM Enayetul Karim, reacted to statements provided to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) by Tahsif's companion, Dweep, who was taken into PBI Metro North custody on Thursday night. Interrogated by PBI, Dweep claimed that he and Tahsif were chased by an unidentified group near Rajabari Ghat on the Turag River, leading Tahsif to jump into the water while Dweep fled. Refuting this, Enayetul Karim stated, "My son was a pilot. He completed special advanced swimming courses as part of his aviation training and held official certifications. He knew how to swim well. The claim that he was chased and drowned is completely fabricated to cover up a murder."

Meanwhile, PBI headquarters SP Abu Yusuf and PBI Metro North officers confirmed the recovery of a numberplate-less motorbike from the Mazar Slum area under Tongi West Police Station—approximately 3.5 kilometers away from where Tahsif's body was fished out of the Turag River under Uttarkhan Police Station. CCTV footage confirmed Tahsif left home on an unplated motorcycle following a call from Dweep on Tuesday evening. PBI Additional DIG Mohammad Enayet Hossain Mannan stated that law enforcement is verifying whether the death stems from homicide, accident, or suicide, and promised a full disclosure once forensic and interrogation evidence is cross-examined.
