Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has issued a stern warning against elements attempting to destabilize the country under the guise of garment worker protests, stating that individuals acting on signals from across the border to execute hidden political agendas will face an iron-fisted crackdown.
Speaking to journalists following a high-level meeting with readymade garment (RMG) factory owners at the Secretariat conference room on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Home Minister asserted that recent violent disruptions on the streets were not carried out by genuine apparel workers. Instead, he blamed accomplices of the fallen Awami League regime for exploiting industrial grievances on instructions from across the border.
