The recommendations were made during the committee's second meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Monday (September 28, 2026), presided over by Committee Chairman Md. Monirul Haq Chowdhury. The committee reviewed progress on the ministry's initiatives over the past six months and examined the operations of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust. Committee members recommended swift measures to ensure genuine Freedom Fighters receive priority welfare assistance and advocated for keeping the Muktijoddha Sangsad active to enable its positive contribution to national life. Emphasizing the preservation of authentic history, the panel urged stakeholders to safeguard the dignity and status of both 1971 Freedom Fighters and recent July uprising participants. Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ahmed Azam Khan, State Minister Ishraque Hossain, committee members Md. Abdul Hannan and Rokeya Begum, alongside representatives from the July Mass Uprising Department, attended the session.
