Police Constable Md. Saimon Beaten by Protesters in Mirpur Kalshi; Admitted to Rajarbagh Police Hospital
Law enforcement personnel deployed along Mirpur thoroughfares following the morning clashes and officer assault.

A police constable named Md. Saimon was brutally beaten after being isolated by protesters during garment worker demonstrations in Dhaka's Mirpur Kalshi area. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Constable Saimon is currently receiving medical treatment at the Rajarbagh Police Hospital.

Video footage circulating from the scene showed a group of individuals striking the police officer with sticks, while a few bystanders attempted to intervene and push the attackers back. Jalal Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station, confirmed the incident, explaining that when security forces dispersed demonstrators from the Mirpur-11 intersection, agitators retreated toward Kalshi. During this movement, the officer became separated from his unit and was targeted.
