President Mirza Fakhrul Calls on Youth to Move Beyond Political Revolution and Build the Nation

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has identified the nation's youth as Bangladesh's primary driving force, emphasizing that building the nation requires transforming young people into an employment-driven, productive workforce alongside political reform.

Speaking at the National Youth Day 2026 ceremony on Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, the President stressed that achieving political change is only the first step. "We struggled for a long time to establish a democratic system in the country. Now our struggle is to build this country, build this nation. Advancing Bangladesh is impossible through political revolution alone; youth must play an equal role in nation-building and taking hold of the reins of production," he declared.

Reflecting on historical milestones, President Fakhrul paid rich tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman for hosting the first Youth Convention at the National Parliament in 1977 and establishing the Ministry of Youth Affairs, as well as uncompromised leader Begum Khaleda Zia for setting up district-level youth training centers across the country. Highlighting Bangladesh's ongoing preparation for LDC graduation and transitioning into a developing country, he urged the government and financial institutions to support small entrepreneurs and women-led micro-enterprises with credit rather than focusing exclusively on large conglomerates. He also called for reforming the national education system towards need-based technical and vocational training to export skilled labor, concluding that in the post-election democratic era, all political discourse and national problem-solving must be centered strictly within Parliament.
