Police recovered ten crude bombs (cocktails) packed inside an abandoned plastic bag in the South Donia area of Jatrabari, Dhaka, on Sunday evening (September 20).
The suspicious plastic bag was spotted around 6:00 PM at the entrance of an alley near a six-story building in the South Donia kitchen market area. Upon searching the bag, officers retrieved the ten explosive devices and immediately alerted the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Following safety protocols, members of the DMP Bomb Disposal Unit safely neutralized all ten crude bombs at the Golapbagh playground under Jatrabari Police Station around 10:25 PM. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Niaz Mehedi confirmed the recovery and defusal, adding that Jatrabari police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for leaving the explosives.
